The protests in Mexico's Oaxaca (Wah-HA-kah) state have been going on for months but THIS was the most violent yet. At least six people killed and over 50 others injured near the town of Nochixtlan (Noh-chit-LAHN), when clashes broke out Sunday between a teacher's union and riot police. It happened when police moved in to remove the protesters who had been blocking a highway for several days with burning tires. Police say the protest had been infiltrated by individuals bent on violence but unaffiliated with the unions. At issue -- teacher anger over education reforms the government pushed through three years ago, especially over mandates to carry out teacher evaluations. The state governor says most of the dead were young people. Only two, he said, had links to the union.
