Vidya Balan To Make Her Marathi Debut With Ek Albela

After working in Hindi, Bengali and South cinema, Vidya Balan is all set to enter the Marathi industry. The actress was last seen in ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ and will now play the role of renowned Bollywood actress Geeta Bali in the upcoming Marathi movie ‘Ek Albela’. It is a biopic on late actor-director Bhagwan Dada. The movie will be directed by Shekhar Sartandel. 'Ek Albela' traces Bhagwan Dada's life from the age of 28 and the difficulties he faced while making his evergreen musical 'Albela', that featured Geeta Bali as the female lead. Director Shekhar said, "I wanted someone with a very Indian face to play Geetaji and Vidya suits the part perfectly." However, Vidya won't be speaking in Marathi in the movie as Geeta Bali was a Hindi star. There is also a buzz that Vidya will do a cameo in the movie.
