Dramatic footage has emerged from China showing thousands of chicks escaping from a crashed lorry onto a motorway.

The video, filmed in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province on Monday, shows chicks escaping from the lorry after it collided with another vehicle.

According to local reports, the lorry driver was rescued from his cab without injury.

Unfortunately however, although many of the chicks were caught and brought back safely, not all of them were saved.
