Nepal, June 14 (ANI): Availability of essential commodities across Raxaul border has resumed four months after the Madhesi blockade at the Indo-Nepal border was lifted, but prices have shot up, causing difficulties for the locals. Madhesi agitators, demanding equal rights and representation in the parliament, called off their almost five-month long blockade in February this year. The situation is much better now than it was during the blockade. Trade has resumed and items of need are now available easily, but locals are troubled due to the steep inflation. Nepal faced an acute shortage of fuel and other essential commodities when Madhesi agitators blocked the Indo-Nepal border. They have been protesting for months for fulfillment of their demands. Talks with the government have continued, though no agreement has yet been reached.
