The Douglas County Sheriff's Office in Castle Rock, Colorado just welcomed a new officer to its ranks.

That officer, however, is a dog named Pilot. The K-9 was sworn in on Tuesday, June 7th, in front of a quite welcoming crowd.

Video of the ceremony was posted to Facebook.

In the short clip, Pilot is asked to speak and solemnly swear to do a good job as a comfort dog before shaking hands with Sheriff Tony Spurlock.

The two-year-old Labrador will assist the department's victim advocate by helping to comfort those on the receiving end of crime.
