The Douglas County Sheriff's Office in Castle Rock, Colorado recently welcomed a new K-9 to its ranks. Pilot, a two-year-old Labrador, will help comfort victims of crime.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office in Castle Rock, Colorado just welcomed a new officer to its ranks.
That officer, however, is a dog named Pilot. The K-9 was sworn in on Tuesday, June 7th, in front of a quite welcoming crowd.
Video of the ceremony was posted to Facebook.
In the short clip, Pilot is asked to speak and solemnly swear to do a good job as a comfort dog before shaking hands with Sheriff Tony Spurlock.
The two-year-old Labrador will assist the department's victim advocate by helping to comfort those on the receiving end of crime.
