If Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has his way, the relationship between his country and the U.S. will be a lot closer than it has been in the years coming.
After addressed a joint meeting of Congress Wednesday, Modi declared both countries “natural allies," while urging each side to establish even closer ties.
Throughout his speech, which was quite humorous, Modi remarked on bipartisanship, Indian American immigrants and intellectual property.
He said that the 3 million Indian Americans “are your strength.
They are also the pride of India.”
Modi noted that the United States is India’s largest trade partner and joked that “it is estimated that more Americans bend for yoga than throw a curveball.”
