CCleaner is a powerful cleaning and optimization tool that ensures optimal performance for your PC. In this video we’ll show you how to use it to clean the Windows Registry.

All you need to do is open the program and click on the Registry icon on the left sidebar. Make sure all the items under Registry Integrity are selected, and click Scan for issues.

CCleaner will start scanning the Windows Registry, looking into all the areas you’ve selected, and it will create a list with all the problems it finds. The scan shouldn’t take more than a few seconds, as indicated by the green bar on top of the window.

Once the scan is done, you can take a look at the issues detected if you want to, and decide which ones you want to fix. They’re all selected by default. If you right click on any element a context menu will show up where you can add them to an Exclude list.

When all the elements you want to repair are selected, click the Fix selected issues button. CCleaner asks if you want to backup those changes to the Registry, something to which you should definitely answer “Yes”. Select the location where you want to save the Registry backup and you‘re done.

You can either fix the issues one by one, or let CCleaner fix all of them without asking any further questions.

Voilà! A shiny new Windows Registry.
