Footage has emerged from Florence, Italy of a massive embankment collapse on the shores of the River Arno.

The video, filmed this morning, shows a collapsed segment about 200m long, with over 20 parked cars stuck in the newly formed ditch.

The collapse was caused by the failure of a large water pipe beneath the surface.

According to local reports, no one was harmed in the incident.
