Hello, and welcome back to Softonics, five apps to try this weekend the show whose name alone explains pretty much everything you need to know about it. It’s the 31st of July, and here are this week’s top five recommendations. And first up it is the terrifying Five Nights at Freddy's 4. If you like scary games you probably already know about this series, but even knowing all we did about it that didn’t stop us being shocked when it suddenly appeared on Steam and the Google Play Store last Friday. Chronologically set before the others, this latest installment keeps the same basic premise, but removes the cameras and the security gates, instead and bringing the terror home as you cower as a small child in your bed room just trying to make it to your birthday at the end of the week. This week’s second app is SOMA Messenger, a new messaging app whose main feature is a very powerful encryption system that guarantees you additional security to your conversation about what you had for breakfast – providing you don’t leave your phone unlocked in a room full of nosy gossips. SOMA Messenger also includes free, high quality audio and video calls with surprisingly little lag. Even better, its currently free to download and use for live – so jump on that offer before the company starts charging like WhatsApp Third up this week we have Adventure Time Puzzle Quest. This is another game based on the wonderfully surreal cartoon Adventure Time. This time, rather than being an action game, or a card battler, you must fight your way across the land of OOO using match three puzzles. It’s a great Match-3 game that has your squad of three battling your opponent’s squad with each chain of gems dictating the power of your attacks. But where it excels is its presentation as it has you building a squad with your favorite characters from the show – mathamatical. At number four we have KitCut, an app to awaken your creativity in fun and stupid ways as you combine photos in to bizarre collages. KitCut makes it easy to build your creations; cut out the part of the picture you want, mix them, write text, and add stickers like flies, stars, or badly applied makeup. Then, the theory is to share them with friends and laugh… though most of the time we ended up going UUHHH? Our final app this week is Angry Birds 2. After numerous spin-off and licensed Angry Birds games developer Rovio has finally given us a sequel. And its… kind of the same. But there are some interesting additions, such as the competing with friends online, levels that alter where the pigs and structures go, and even the ability to change the order in which you want to use your furious wild fowl. Not a revolution, but still flapping good fun. That’s if for this week, but if you enjoyed the video please do share it, and if you think we missed any great apps this week let us know in the comments. I’ll be back next week with another 5 apps to try, subscribe so you don’t miss it, and I will see you then.
