The original version of this guide is on the Grow Light Central site: https://growlightcentral.com/pages/best-led-grow-light-for-weed

That written version is updated regularly and will have newer information on it. Since LED lighting technology is constantly improving, our recommendations are also constantly changing and different companies come out with newer grow lights. For that reason, it pays to check out the written version.

That version also includes links to any recommendations made so you can easily click through to get more information on any light we mention.

The LED buyer's guide works like this: we go through the key factors that differentiate the different lights one by one and make a few recommendations for each option. Based on which of these factors is most important to you, you choose the appropriate light. The truth is though, that the best lights are generally the best no matter the factor.

The factors we look at are these:

1. Price: We don't recommend making a decision based on price, but the most common request we get is for LED plant light recommendations for different price levels, so we added this section due to popular demand.

2. Spectrum: The main decision here is between white LEDs or LED fixtures using multiple colored LEDs (assuming you want a full spectrum LED grow light, of course)

3. Power: we differentiate between listed wattage and actual wattage and help you determine how much power you need for your grow space.

4. PAR: we explain why PAR ratings are often misleading and also give you the lights that have the highest PAR values throughout the coverage area.

5. Coverage: similar to PAR, the listed coverage area can also be misleading. We recommend lights that give you the largest coverage areas

6. Warranty: all lights on our site come with warranties, but if you buy elsewhere, be sure to only get lights that have a warranty. If the LED manufacturer doesn't stand behind their grow lights, that's a red flag.
