Tibetan activists commemorate 'Abduction Day' of Panchen Lama

Dharamshala, May 17 (ANI): Tibetan activists from various non-governmental organisations (NGO) on Tuesday gathered at the main square of Mcleodganj near Dharamshala to commemorate the day when their leader Panchen Lama was allegedly abducted by the Chinese government. They organised an event 'Letters to Panchen Lama' to mark 21 years of his disappearance. Many Tibetans in-exile gathered to write a message for Panchen Lama. On May 17th 1995, Panchen Lama and his family were taken into custody by the Chinese authorities and have not been seen since.
