Named after the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the burger went on sale at the Urban Burgery restaurant in the city of Cologne from April following a major scandal on German TV. Comedian Jan Boehmermann read a controversial satirical poem about the Turkish president on live television, including implying that the Turkish president had sexual relations with goats. Advertised as 'tasty and juicy… naturally, with goat's cheese', the burger quickly become the most popular item on the menu.
