ADNAN OKTAR: Mourning was practiced in the Ancient Greek. It was also practiced by the Ancient Egyptians, Sumerians, and Hittites. All the polytheistic societies practiced mourning. But it was declared to be unlawful by Our Prophet (saas). Mourning is another name for rebelling against God. It shouldn't be practiced. It is not something a Muslim should resort to. People believe it to be sacred but they are mistaken.
