Nepal, Apr 23 (ANI): Ayush was just two days old when his home crumbled on top of him. Like many in rural Nepal, his house was made from stones and mud. It took less than 30 seconds for last year's 7.8 magnitude earthquake on on April 25 to reduce it to a pile of rubble. The earthquake killed some 9,000 people and injured more than 22,000 others, according to the United Nations and government figures. It damaged more than 900,000 houses. Ayush and his family lived, though a falling barn crushed several of their goats. Ayush lives with his mother, sister and two elderly grandparents in Mati Village, the family survive by breeding and selling livestock. Nepal is still struggling to recover from last year's twin earthquakes that affected nearly eight million people, killing over 9,000, injuring more than 22,000 and destroying over a million homes in the small Himalayan nation.
