Hit-and-run cases by ‘rich’ brats in India

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): Very often we hear news about the hit-and-run cases, the latest one being the Mercedes hit-and-run case in Delhi’s posh Civil Lines area where a juvenile hit a marketing executive while on a night out with his friends.
Let us have a look at the major hit-and-run cases in India where the offenders have violated rules to the core:-Actor Salman Khan killed one and injured four others while driving under the influence of alcohol as he ran over his speeding car on the pavement of a road in Mumbai’s Bandra area 13 years ago. Sanjeev Nanda, then a Wharton Business School student, and the son of industrialist Suresh Nanda ran his car over six people, including three policemen, in Gurgaon in 1999. In 2008 a Delhi Court had framed charges against Utsav Bhasin, the son of a Haryana-based industrialist, accused of ramming his BMW car into a motorcycle and killing a man in South Delhi. Beedi king Muhammed Nisham had in January 29 last year rammed Chandra Bose with his Hummer in Kerala. The Beedi king had after the incident alleged that there was a slight delay in opening the gate of Sobha city, a residential township, where he owns an apartment. Charged with murder among other Sections of the Indian Penal Code, Sambia, the son of former Rashtriya Janata Dal legislator Mohammad Sohrab, broke the police barricades and fatally knocked down IAF corporal Abhimanyu Gaud on January 13, 2016.
