And here it is— the second Equestria Girls movie, Rainbow Rocks! Not many people in the fandom probably wanted this, but what we received was most definitely better than the original. With improvements in just about every aspect over EQG1, this movie definitely left many wanting more. From a nice arc for Sunset Shimmer, to great comedy, to fun villains, to numerous background character shoutouts, this movie delivered in a lot of aspects. The songs and soundtrack were no exception, will Daniel Ingram and William Anderson really stepping up their game for this one! With over 10 songs, this movie was more music-packed than the original, and will leave you humming the tunes for days afterward. In terms of number and length of tracks, the BGM in the movie was a little less than the first, which is to be expected with the amount of more time the songs take up. But what we did get from the BGM was fantastic, introducing a couple new amazing themes which are reprised throughout the movie. NOTE: The songs in this movie are mixed differently than any other songs in this series. Backing vocals are in the stereo channels, but addtional backing vocals, and only a few instruments are in most of the surround channels. This means that a true instrumental for any song in this movie is unfortunately imossible. Sorry!\r

Just like last time, we get a fantastic closing song during the credits to take us out on! Of note, this is the first song in which Sunset Shimmer is singing with the Rainbooms, while Twilight is not, signifying her new placement in the group.\r
\r
The song itself is also fairly unique for the series, taking on a much more “gospel” music feel, especially toward the end. We start out with some great solos from Applejack, Rarity, and Sunset before we get to the chorus. This song, like the Rainbooms other offerings, has very strong vocal harmonies throughout. They are especially prominent during the bridges to the chorus as the entire group sings.\r
\r
The best part is definitely the bridge leading into the final chorus, as well as the final chorus itself. This is when the full choir joins in, and gives the song its “gospel” music feel. The vocals take over this part in a way that few other MLP songs have, and gives the ending potentially even a bigger, more emotional feel than the ending of “Welcome to the Show”. You can argue that this final song gives it a run for its money!\r
