Dr. Faisal Sultan, CEO SKMCH&RC, rejected the accusations regarding the investments of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust and said it was regrettable that a charitable institution was being unnecessarily targeted. He reiterated that all details regarding this matter have been previously shared in depth with the public but that two important facts required emphasis:-

1. That the investment of USD 3 million made by SKMT for its endowment fund was clearly reflected in the audited accounts which were and are publicly viewable on the organization’s website. The existence of this investment was transparent and not a secret divulged by some third party.

2. The entire amount, i.e. USD 3 million was received back by SKMT on 29 June 2015, thus no loss was suffered by SKMT.
