Families of deceased farmers suffer due to drought

Beed (Maharashtra), Apr 05 (ANI): Manjara Dam, one of the largest dam in Maharashtras'a Beed district, has no water to feed the people of nearby villages. The place has been affected for almost three years due to scanty rainfall, and drought situation resulting in farmers committing suicide. Speaking about their problems, a relative of a deceased farmer said his uncle committed suicide due to unavailability of food, water and other resources.He added that a compensation of Rs 1 lakh announced is yet to be given to his family, adding that they require the amount now. Meanwhile, wife of one of the deceased farmer broke down while speaking about her situation after her husband committed suicide due to dry crops and loan.
