Ahmednagar,Apr 02 (ANI): Activist Trupti Desai was detained by police outside the Shani Shingnapur temple in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar District. Desai, along with women volunteers of her outfit Bhumata Ranragini Brigade clashed with local villagers and temple trustees who are staunchly opposed to the entry of women inside the holy sanctorum. She was detained for allegedly disrupting public order. Around a 100 volunteers of Bhumata Brigade had earlier marched towards Shani Shingnapur temple on Saturday, a day after the Bombay High Court had instructed the Maharashtra government to ensure that women are allowed to offer prayers in the sanctum sanctorum.
