Amritsar, Mar 22 (ANI): A batch of 86 Indian fishermen reached Amritsar after their release from Malir jail in Pakistan's Karachi. The fishermen travelled to Lahore by train and were handed over to Indian authorities at Wagah border in the frontier state. An Indian fisherman, Babu, said that there was no maritime border demarcation which is why trawlers often, unknowingly, strayed into Pakistani waters. He added that many Indian fishermen still languished in Pakistani prisons and urged the federal government to push for their early release. Another Indian fisherman, Mohan, said that he crossed over to the other side while he was asleep in his boat. Rights activists say that currently, around 363 Indian fishermen are lodged in Pakistani jails.
