Dramatic footage has emerged from China of the aftermath of a huge truck explosion on a motorway, which killed five people and injured a further 20.

The aerial video, filmed yesterday in Yueyang, Hunan Province, shows the wreck of the lorry and the remains of other vehicles, while debris is strewn across the road.

According to local reports, the lorry, which was suspected of transporting a flammable substance, caught fire and exploded suddenly.

At least seven other vehicles were also caught in the blast, which killed five people and left around 20 with major injuries.
