Stephanopoulos to Trump: Will You Discourage Supporters from Rioting at Convention?
George Stephanopoulos confronted Donald Trump this morning over his declaration there would be riots at the Republican National Convention if he’s denied the nomination at a brokered convention.
Trump talked at great length about how he has millions of people voting for him and is creating some kind of big movement before saying “I don’t know what’s gonna happen” at the convention.
Stephanopoulos directly asked him, “Will you tell your supporters not to riot if you lose the convention fair and square?”
Trump said he would “certainly tell them that,” but pointed out his supporters are “fervent, they want to see positive things happen for our country.”
“I don’t want to see riots,” he said, “I don’t want to see problems, but you have millions of people we’re talking about.”
