Chandigarh, Mar 17 (ANI): Haryana Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLAs protested outside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha demanding rollback of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal Land Bill. They threatened to continue protesting if their demands weren’t met. As many as 19 INLD Haryana MLAs joined the protest after the Punjab government ordered that the construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal will go back to the original owners. Punjab Congress MLAs as a counter attack also protested outside Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The Punjab assembly on March 14 passed a Punjab SYL Canal (Rehabilitation and Re-vesting of Proprietary Rights) Bill, 2016, for this purpose. The Bill is waiting assent from Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, who holds the dual charge of Haryana.
