Super Tuesday the second has been billed as a make or break round of voting in the US presidential nomination contest and that’s just how it is turning out to be. First casualty has been Republican Senator Marco Rubio who lost Florida to Donald Trump
Projections have given Republican front runner Trump a huge win in Rubio’s home state. It means he gets all 99 delegates in Florida’s winner takes all system. However projections for the other big prize Ohio have rival John Kasich in the lead.
Rubio’s departure leaves three candidates in the Republican race – Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich. Establishment Republicans will now likely give Kasich a hard look, since most oppose Trump or Cruz being the nominee.
On the Democratic side former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have also captured the Florida primary along with North Carolina and Ohio as she aims to put some distance between herself and rival Bernie Sanders.
