Footage of a major wind and snow storm hitting Russia's far east, where winters are renowned for being extremely harsh.

The video, filmed in January in Anadyrsky District, shows a man in snow gear being battered by the powerful wind.

The filmer later wrote online: "It had snowed all day, and the storm began around sunset and raged all night."

"Winters in the Russian Far East are extremely harsh, sometimes with temperatures below -35°C, strong winds and frequent snowstorms."
