Nearly 100 cars were involved in several crashes on Interstate-40 in North Carolina on Sunday (March 13), injuring 20 people, NBC reported.
The crashes happened over a 6-mile (10 kilometer) stretch of the highway, starting at about 6 p.m., local time (2200 GMT), snarling traffic on both sides of the roadway for hours into the night.
NBC reported that the Alamance County Sheriff's Office counted nine separate crashes along the interstate, possibly caused by wet road conditions.
