The Booker prize-winning author visits refugee camps in the Bekaa valley of Lebanon as a guest of World Vision, accompanied by the artist Ben Quilty. ‘We’ve seen things in the last few days that would turn a heart of stone to gravel,’ Flanagan says, adding: ‘These people aren’t like you and me. They are you and me’.
