The Supreme Court of the United States is still the subject of a tussle between the Senate and the White House. The US president received Republican and Democratic senators, to try to break the deadlock. This impasse, it is related to the death of the conservative Justice Antonin Scalia on 13 February. It must be replaced, and it is the role of President Obama to propose a candidate, who must be confirmed by the Senate. Since the death of Scalia, it remains eight judges to the conservative Supreme Court and four progressive. The President shall appoint the ninth. But Republicans refuse reappointment. Why ? Because they fear that logically Obama appointed a judge of its political edge, a Democrat, tipping the Supreme Court to the left, when it has to decide on controversial issues such as abortion or illegal evictions. Republicans ask to wait for the post-presidential.
