As the world shows their support for Caitlyn Jenner, former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has caused huge offense after insisting hell still call her Bruce.\r

After revealing she was now living life as a woman after coming out as transgender earlier this year, the former Olympic athlete had made it clear what her name is after the transition.\r

However, the former Drake and Josh actor seemed to take a cheap shot with a tweet aimed at Caitlyn, who has appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair for the first time as a woman.\r

He wrote: Sorry...still calling you Bruce. (sic)\r

Fans were quick to leap to Caitlyns defence, many blasting Drake for his comments, which were later deleted.\r

One user tweeted: Losing all respect for drake bell when he is still gonna call Caitlyn, Bruce\r

Celebrity Big Brother contestant and RuPauls Drag Race star Michelle Visage also hit out, describing his post as transphobic.\r

She wrote: @DrakeBell it looks like youve deleted ur transphobic tweet. In 2015 when ur star is no longer relevant u should do ALL u can to send LOVE (sic)\r

Drake later tried to explain himself, insisting he wanted to remember the name Bruce as a tribute to the former athletes legacy as an Olympic hero.\r

In a message that was also deleted, he added: Im not dissing him! I just dont want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!\r
