On Sundays annual Halloween -themed Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons , Homer, Marge and the kids played host to the ghostly spirits of Simpsons past. The original version of the family from The Tracy Ullman Show dropped by 742 Evergreen Terrace to haunt their current-day counterparts, eventually convincing the family to kill each other and to live as ghosts in harmony. In the episodes closing moments, the Simpsons are joined by a handful of other doppelganger families that reference pop culture, including Adventure Time , South Park , Archer , Despicable Me and even Lego .\r
