Okay, I was rummaging through my VeggieTales VHS and DVD collection and accidentally ran across this. What is it, you ask? Its a rare bonus feature from.get this.the 2004 Warner Home Video release of the VeggieTales Classics version of Wheres God When Im S-Scared?. This is a VHS rip that never made it into any of the DVD versions, featuring Phil Vischer discussing the origins of VeggieTales and showcasing some early animation tests. Here are four screen tests (one of them not generally available for viewing) in the video described below:\r
\r
1. Walking Orange (1:27): A short 4-second animation test that just has a walking orange wearing blue-green pajama pants.\r
\r
2. Candy Bar (Unavailable, but mentioned on 1:35): Phil discussed about his first computer animation model being an anthropomorphic candy bar, but after his wife suggested that parents might not want to show children videos with a candy hero, he instead chose vegetables and fruits, their polar opposite.\r
\r
3. Mr. Cukes Screen Test (2:37): The short is said to be 12 seconds long and just has Larry the Cucumber (or Mr. Cuke as he was known back then) looking off center at the camera and smiles and then hops around on the kitchen countertop. This would soon be the center stage for Bob and Larry during each VeggieTales episode.\r
\r
4. VeggieTales Promo- Take 38 (4:16): A 2-minute commercial. Marks debut of Bob the Tomato, Archibald Asparagus, and Mom Asparagus. In this video, its been 38 takes, and Bob tries to preform his best to promote about the show, until Larry, who is hopping in the background looking for his Blue Plastic Wind-up Lobster, interrupts.\r

I went crazy trying to video-capture this video before it ended up getting lost in time. Sorry for some jagged frames on some scenes of Phil Vischer on the screen. But I did my very best to ensure the best framerate on the three screen tests, and to ensure the best sound. So this is the VeggieTales: Early Animation Tests VHS rip in the best quality you will find. I put captions on the Take 38 promo, too.\r

Enjoy this rare treat in VeggieTales animation! Please no bad comments, because that would not be a very wise decision.
