**Persian Steamed White Rice**

Follow these few steps to get fluffy, delicious rice! { Recipe yields 8 servings }

1. Rinse 5 cups rice
2. Boil your water with 1/2 c. oil + 3 tbsp salt
3. Add your rice and cook for 5 mins., then drain.
4. Add canola oil to the bottom of your pan (optional: add turmeric or saffron)
5. Cover the pot and cook for 5–7 minutes until rice begins to steam.
6. Uncover and place 2 paper towels over the rice, then close the lid.
7. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.

The first few steps are just like cooking pasta :)
