This is part 19 of my Super Smash Bros. Melee Lets Play for the Nintendo Gamecube, played on Dolphin Emulator in 1080p 60FPS. In this part, we play as the Happy-Go-Lucky Dinosaur of the Mario Series, Yoshi. Yoshi is a dinosaur that has helped Mario and Co. throughout certain Mario Series whenever he was needed and is very friendly (if you arent a foe). Transitioning into Melee, Yoshi has been nerfed, as he has lost most of his defensive options, due to not being able to jump out-of-shield like he could in the original SSB (this option returns in Project M and SSB4). Yoshi has also had his air speed nerfed, although it is still among the highest in the game, Forward & Up Smashes are weaker, but come out quicker. Up Smash no longer reaches behind Yoshi, now has trouble with combos against floaty characters, has a considerable amount of start up lag on his forward aerial, down aerial has 3% less damage output (56% to 53% if all hits connect). Despite all the nerfs Yoshi has, a Top level player such as aMSa has made excellent results with Yoshi, changing his metagame, as now it is being debated in the Melee Community (some consider Yoshi to be mid tier now instead of Low-Mid Tier.\r
