This simple Indian rice dish probably needs no introduction, it is known & loved by all. Peas Pulao is delicious and the best comfort food for all the Rice lovers. So go ahead and make this tummy filling main course rice recipe and enjoy it with your family.
Ingredients:
- 500gms – 21/2 cup of basmati rice – soaked in water for half and hour
- Fresh spices
2 cups of mint leaves
½ cup of coriander leaves
1 tbsp of ginger
couple of green chillies
- water
- 4 tbsp of oil
- 1 tsp of shahi jeera
- 1 tsp of hing
- 1 tej patta / bay leaf
- 2-3 bits of cassia
- 6 cloves
- 8-10 pepper corns
- 2 cups of peas
- 3 ¼ tsp of salt
- juice of 1 lemon
Method:
- Grind together all the fresh spices mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, green chillies and little bit of water – put the mixture In a bowl
- In a pan boil water, in other pan add oil, shahi jeera, hing, bay leaf, cassia, cloves, pepper corns and the raw masala and mix well
- Add the drained rice and mix it well with the masala and add the peas and pour in the boiled water and salt and juice of lemon
- Close the lid and cook until the rice is done.
