CAYCE, SC: The Cayce Department of Public Safety released video footage of a November 2015 incident in which two officers shot a suspect during an arrest attempt. \n\nOfficer Rhett Kelly and Sergeant Frank Ballentine had found a small amount of marijuana in 21-year old Demetrius Shelley Bryant\'s pockets after questioning him about the smell of marijuana from his car. Bryant begins to resist when the officers attempt to arrest him on drug-related charges, and pulls out a pistol and opens fire on the officers when they say he will be charged with resisting arrest. \n\nOfficer Kelly was wounded by one of the shots while Sergeant Ballentine chased and then fatally shot Bryant as he fled. Bryant had been arrested three times prior for gun and drug possession. Officer Kelly was later able to return to work on limited duty while recuperating from his injuries.\n\nCayce DPS released the video after deciding that the officers would not be charged for the incident. \n\nNOTE: Fight between suspect and cops begins at the 2-minute mark.
