DUBLIN —
One man was killed and two others injured following what Irish police believe to have been a targeted shooting at a weigh-in for a boxing match at a Dublin hotel, according to a BBC report.

The suspected gangland attack began at roughly 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Dublin's Regency Hotel, where the attackers shot three men, one them fatally.

Police believe at least four men were involved in the shooting.

Two of the suspects were reportedly disguised in uniforms similar to those of the Irish police force's Emergency Response Unit.

Witnesses described one of the other suspects as a stocky man wearing a beige cap and said another was dressed as a woman and sported an auburn wig.

The group were armed with automatic weapons, believed to have been AK47s, as well as handguns.

When the suspects entered the area where the weigh-in was taking place, spectators scrambled.

Some 200-300 people were reportedly attending the weigh-in for what was to be Saturday night's World Boxing Organization European lightweight title fight between Jamie Kavanagh and Antonio Joao Bento. The fight has since been cancelled.
