Police in Sao Paulo dispersed protesters on Thursday by firing tear gas and rubber bullets at crowds as demonstrations continue to hit the Brazilian city’s streets over hikes in public transport fares.

Organised by the Free Fare Movement, hundreds of protesters who had led a citywide march were broken up after they allegedly refused to end the demo. Multiple protesters were injured when police fired rounds into the crowds.
