China is reported to be planning a high speed rail track project between Tibet and Nepal. The proposed 540-kilometre rail link will be built passing through a tunnel under Mt Everest. China is expected to complete this project by 2020. The move could potentially cause concern in India as even earlier China had planned infrastructural around the border leading to tension between the two countries. China’s response on India’s concern is awaited in this regard.
