Jeremy Corbyn asked David Cameron about the scrapping of student maintenance grants at Prime Minister's Questions, which he said was not mentioned in the Tory manifesto.
He cited the example of Liam, a trainee teacher facing debts of £50,000 from university.
The PM said more people from low-income backgrounds were going to university than ever before and said Labour wanted to "put a cap" on aspiration.
