MEXICO CITY — A giant explosion tore through a Mexico City street Friday morning, injuring nearly a dozen people, according to an ABC News report.

CCTV camera footage released by city officials captures the dramatic moment when the blast sent shattered glass and debris flying across the busy street.

Authorities believe a gas leak was to blame for the incident.

"It looks like there was an accumulation of gas inside the restaurant," Mexico City Mayor Miguel Mancera told Milenio TV, according to ABC.

The explosion injured and hospitalized some 10 or 11 people, including an 8-year-old girl.

Thankfully no fatalities have yet to be reported and police are still in the process of carrying out an investigation.
