Incredible time-lapse footage has emerged showing smoke from a bush fire rising above a suburb in Perth, Western Australia.

The footage, captured on Thursday, shows the smoke billowing out from a point in the distance and spreading out over the sky.

According to local reports, the fire began in the town of Waroona, spreading to cover Harvey, 140 kilometres south of Perth, where many residents have been forced to flee from the fast-moving blaze.
