On January 7, 2015, terror struck at the heart of the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo. Cartoonists Jean “Cabu” Cabut, Stéphane “Charb” Charbonnier, Philippe Honoré , Bernard “Tignous” Verlhac and Georges Wolinski were among those killed.

Iranian artist-in-exile Kianoush Ramezani knew Charb and Tignous personally. He talks to Richelle Harrison Plesse about freedom of expression and reveals what he’d say to his fallen friends if he could speak to them again.
