NASA has released a stunning black and white image of boulders rising out of a landslide on Mars.
Gathered by a high resolution camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the jagged rocks almost seem to peer above the mass of fallen soil.
The space agency notes, "This landslide is relatively fresh, as many individual boulders still stand out above the main deposit. The scarp itself also looks fresh compared to the rest of the cliff: it, too, has boulders, and more varied topography than the adjacent dusty terrain."
