The Under Secretary General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs, Stephen O’Brien, spent three days assessing the humanitarian situation and living conditions in Syria, and then reported: “We need US$3.2 billion to help 13.5 million Syrians who require some form of assistance. Some 6.5 million of them are internally displaced. 72% of the population has no access to drinking water. And 2 million children are out of school.
