Venezuela’s National Electoral Council has not yet released final results regarding 22 parliamentary seats in question. This is partially due to torrential rains in the Amazonas region that have held up the counting process. Leaders of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) have accepted full responsibility for the loss and have accepted the results. Both leaders and members of grassroots social movements cite the need for reflection as well as their determination to carry on with the Bolivarian Revolution and the legacy of Hugo Chavez.
