Good thing the paperwork got done.
Bubba Watson, the big-hitting lefty from Bagdad, Fla., wasn't going to play in the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Club, in large part because of a potential snafu with a passport for his daughter.
Now he's in a prime position to win it.
Watson fired a course-record, 9-under-par 63 in Saturday's third round - the highlight a holed-out 7-iron for eagle on the par-4 fourth hole - and will take a 2-stroke lead into the final 18 holes.
His closest pursuer, Paul Casey, also shot a course-record 63.
Three back are Patrick Reed and Chris Kirk .
World No. 1 and defending champion Jordan Spieth is four back after a 68.
"It was a good day," said Watson, who added seven birdies to his eagle in a flawless round.
By his count, he now has at least 10 course records.
