Hey Siri, what's the weather like this afternoon? That's one of the questions newer Ford car owners will be able to ask with a press of a button with Ford's new SYNC software update, which brings Siri Eyes-Free support to cars dating from 2011 onward. The SYNC 3.8 update, which can be downloaded over at owner.ford.com, lets users make phone calls to contacts in their address book, set reminders, ask about the weather, play music, send and receive messages and get directions through Apple Maps, among other things. Vehicles with the second generation of Ford's SYNC infotainment system (or MyFord Touch, as it's known in the U.S.), with model years ranging from 2011 to 2016, will get the new functionality. Once the update is installed, Siri Eyes-Free can be activated with a long press of the voice recognition button, located on the steering wheel.
