Joke scenes in Albania as an ambulance needed a tow from a firetruck to help an injured player
There were unacceptable scenes in Albania on Saturday in the top flight match between Tërbuni Pukë and Teuta Durrës.
Midway through the second half, Teuta’s Liberian midfielder Abel Gebor went down injured and in obvious pain.
Gebor couldn’t get back on his feet, and he needed a stretcher to carry him off.
There was a problem for the footballer however as the on-sight ambulance (or makeshift white van) was unable to reach the injured party due to the boggy surface and it’s appalling condition.
After several moments watching the man in charge of the ambulance struggle, a firetruck eventually towed the ambulance to Gebor. It was a farce.
Teuta Durrës won the match 1-0.
