'MERICA — Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, brings out shoppers in search of deals, and throngs of people who don't mind inflicting pain on fellow consumers to get their hands on some discounted merchandise.
This year is no different. Footage from several shopping malls and department stores across the United States has surfaced online, showing people getting into fist fights and mobbing like a swarm of hungry locusts to buy some stuff that's on sale.
Two men at the Mall St. Matthews in Louisville, Kentucky were caught on tape getting into a fight in front of dozens of shoppers. The cause of the dispute is unknown, and it's unclear if the men will face any charges.
Another video from a mall in Florence, Kentucky shows a group of people also fighting on Black Friday. Both people who recorded the videos can be heard name dropping "World Star," a website that puts out monthly street fighting compilation videos.
Black Friday crowds have faced scrutiny since 2008, when a Walmart employee was trampled to death in Long Island during a Black Friday sale.
