To make a short story a little longer, a Lungo (Italian for "long") is essentially an espresso made with more water than usual. The result is a stretched espresso that requires a little more time to prepare, and a bigger cup. It should not be confused with an americano, which is also an espresso with hot water added to it but, how shall I put it nicely, is always a little "dirtier." For those of you that are still reading, a lungo is usually less strong and more bitter than the standard espresso. This is because the additional hot water extracts more of what usually doesn't get dissolved when preparing a ristretto, or shorter shot of espresso. That being said, it doesn't take much to ruin a lungo, salvageable only by turning it into a cappuccino or latte (which they are great for by the way). Caffe Furia didn't want their Lungo to have any of that unpleasantness. So they took their richest and most intense blend, Il Sublime, and ground it a bit differently in order to produce a longer brew (without the need to make any adjustments to your machine settings). So that makes Caffe Furia Lungo less of a "flavor" and more of a higher end Nespresso capsule alternative specifically engineered to brew a specific style of espresso for a specific type of coffee snob. Available as a single portion Nespresso capsule alternative with .7 more grams of espresso than the average capsule. Sempre fatto in Italia" Always Made in Italy.
